Dr. Larissa Mooney is an addiction psychiatrist and Associate Clinical Professor at UCLA, where she directs the UCLA Addiction Medicine Clinic and teaches principles of evidence-based treatments for co-occurring addictive and mental health disorders to psychiatrists in training. She also serves as the Acting Section Chief for the Greater Los Angeles VA Substance Use Disorders Section. After obtaining residency training in psychiatry at New York University, Dr. Mooney completed a fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Mooney is a member of the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry (AAAP) Executive Board of Directors and conducts clinical research at UCLA Integrated Substance Abuse Programs. She is currently Co-PI on a NIDA funded investigation of functional outcomes in cannabis users. Her interests include development of pharmacological and behavioral treatments for addiction and advancement of substance abuse training for health care professionals.
