  • Multi-disciplinary clinical service focused on Latinx and Spanish-speaking populations

County Clinics

Edelman Westside Mental Health Center (Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health)

    • Outpatient clinical services including adult and transitional-age youth full service partnership programs (intensive mental health services for high acuity populations)

Twin Towers Correctional Facility (Los Angeles County Department of Health Services)

    • Largest mental health facility in the world

    • Treatment provided in specialized high-observation units for carcerally-involved individuals with serious mental illness

Mental Health Diversion Court (Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, Office of Diversion and Reentry)

    • Forensic psychiatry clinical experience involving diversion of patients from carceral involvement to community-based treatment

VA Clinics

Interprofessional Academic Homeless Patient Aligned Care Team (IA-HPACT)

    • Primary care-led collaborative care program specializing in homeless services

Integrated Dual Diagnosis Outreach Clinic

  • Combines field- and office-based clinical services for individuals with serious mental illness with addiction treatment (including but not limited to medication-assisted treatment)

Community Clinics

Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services

    • Non-profit mental health program with numerous clinical sites, county-contract agency

    • Transition-age youth full service partnership Full Service Partnership, providing wraparound services to patients ages 16-25) and AB-109 clinic for individuals on probation

The People Concern

    • Non-profit organization focused on populations experiencing homelessness

    • Supportive housing and field-based clinical services based on the Assertive Community Treatment team model

Asian Pacific Counseling and Treatment Center

    • Non-profit mental health program, county-contract agency

    • Training site for residents in psychiatry and UCLA primary care programs

Global Mental Health Electives

Clinical and Teaching Elective in Tintswalo, South Africa

Piloted in 2017, this elective typically provides two PGY-3 or PGY-4 residents the opportunity to spend four weeks in Tintswalo, South Africa, engaged in inpatient and outpatient psychiatry, as well as teaching. Details available here.
